Hello, guys. My name's Krystal and my mom became so obsessed with me that she nearly killed me. I finally learned to stand up for myself and that got me in prison. Here's my story.
My childhood was a lonely one. My father died when I was very young, so it was me, my mom and her boyfriends. They were all kinds of awful. They were rich businessmen, but they acted like drunks and creeps. My mom’s dream was to be a ballet dancer and she never got to do it because she had me, so I started going to ballet classes. At first it was just a hobby, but it became like an obsession to her. And it nearly led me to my death.
I remember it was just after my 15th birthday. I’d put on some weight and started developing curves. One of her boyfriends commented that I look like a younger, juicier version of her and she snapped. From that moment, every morning all she’d give me was juice or an apple. There was this big audition coming up, so I was practicing like crazy, my body was covered in bruises as I was pushing myself to the limit. That’s when it all came crashing down.
During one of these rehearsals, I tore my hip so I had to rest. But my mom wasn’t having it. One of the evenings she locked me in the theatre and said, “You stay here for a night. I’ll come back in the morning to see if you manage to do anything worth watching”. And she left.
I was alone in the theatre crying my eyes out and popping pain pills one after the other until I heard someone in the back. I heard my heart drop to my stomach. I’m all alone and I have nowhere to run. I thought this is gonna be the end of me, but this night had an unexpected turn. This older guy, a technician, walked up to me. His name was Porter and he was a real sweetheart. He sat down and tried to calm me down. We started talking and it finally felt like I wasn’t alone in the world. He brought me burgers and fries as my mom was clearly starving me. He took me to this dressing room in the theatre to sleep, gave me a blanket and was ready to leave me there to sleep but then...I thought that this was the only person that made me feel amazing, so I asked him to stay.
But my happiness didn’t last long...
